Affirmations In The Classroom
What is an Affirmation Station in a Classroom?
An affirmation station is a set area in the classroom where students can go to say affirmations. An affirmation station promotes positive self-talk, empowerment, and confidence-building among your students. The most common affirmation station is a mirror that has affirmations surrounding it.

Why Use an Affirmation Station?
Using an affirmation station in your classroom is an effective way to promote a safe and positive classroom atmosphere, it also promotes students' social-emotional learning and reflection on personal strengths. By getting your students to regularly use the affirmation station in the classroom your students can develop a habitat of positive self-talk and build self-esteem.

Daily Affirmation Practice in the Classroom:
Take a couple of minutes every morning or during class transition periods for students to visit the affirmation station, say an affirmation together as a class out loud, or read an affirmation.

Other Affirmation Ideas to Incorporate into the Classroom:

Affirmation Jars: take a jar and fill it up with folded pieces of paper that have written affirmations on them. Get your students to use the affirmation jar when they need an emotional pick-me-up or just as a daily reminder that they are worthy and are able to succeed in anything they put their minds and hearts into.
Interactive Affirmations: you can create an interactive affirmation station by writing affirmations on sticky notes and putting them in a public place. Encourage your students to take an affirmation whenever they may need one.
Affirmation Bulletin Board: Print out your favorite affirmations and display them by hanging them on clothespins in the classroom. By hanging them in clothes pins you can swap them out whenever you want a change in the classroom.
Affirmation Rocks: take your class outside and get them to pick one small rock each. Then have the students decorate the rocks with affirmations or positive statements. The students can either keep it in their desk and use it as an emotional pick-me-up or you can put them all in a bowl and encourage students to look at the rocs and reflect on the affirmations and positive thoughts.
